Q: What do I need to bring?
A: For your first session, just wear something comfortable you can kick around in, bring a towel, and if you have boxing gloves, bring them along too. If you are attending the 7pm class, you MUST bring 16oz gloves, shin guards, mouth guard and groin guard.
Q: I don’t have gloves, can I come anyway?
A: Of course, we are happy supply gloves for your first few visits, but after that, we recommend purchasing gloves at our pro-shop or at any boxing supplies store. It’s like using someone else’s shoes, so it’s not something you want to do permanently.
Q: I’m just starting, can I just come along to the 7pm class?
A: Sorry, but this is an invite only class not only for your own safety, but for the benefit of the group. Once you have a grasp of the fundamentals and can hold pads, speak to one of our staff about making the jump. If you have trained elsewhere previously, again, contact one of our staff to discuss.
Q. Can I come late to class?
A. Unless there is an emergency or you have spoken to one of the staff, please be prompt. Not only is it impolite, but you will miss out on vital parts to the session like the warm up or introduction. It’s also not fair on the trainers who are preparing the classes.
Q. Do I have to fight?
A. Absolutely NOT! We love people training and enjoying Muaythai, regardless of the reason. Although we pride ourselves in having active fighters at the gym, we will never force anyone to fight who is not interested.
Q. Can I fight?
A. Perhaps. Not everyone is cut out for competing and our fighters are required to train 6 days a week. We pride ourselves in the quality and fitness of our fight team and it’s important we uphold our reputation. If you are interested in fighting, please speak to one of the trainers.
